Follow-Ups

Homoeopathic treatment consists of a continual team work, both on the part of the patient and the doctor. Hence, it is important to follow up regularly with the Resident Doctor every month or as and when advised by the Resident Doctor. The follow-up interview revolves around the elicitation of particulars like the frequency, the intensity and the progress of existing symptoms and complaints, appearance of new symptoms if any, any stressful incidents, overall moods, sleep, appetite and thirst pattern, energy levels, dreams and the changes felt in any other areas since the start of treatment.follow-up

All these are crucial, as they are noted down by the Resident Doctor, who prescribes the next medicine based on these symptoms. Every follow up done by the Resident Doctor is followed up and constantly supervised by the Consultant Doctor. The Resident Doctor may take the case back to the Consultant Doctor when he feels that the case demands a personal review by the Consultant, so the appointment with the Consultant Doctor is solely at the discretion of the Resident Doctor, who follows up the case diligently and cherishes welfare of the patient as his prime objective.

It is always advisable that the patient comes to the clinic for the follow-up in person every month, but in case this is not possible, the follow-up can be done through media like phone, skype or mail. The follow-up has to be ideally during the clinic hours. In case of patients who are located at a distance from the clinic, it is mandatory that the patient visits the clinic at least once in three months for the follow-up.

The Resident Doctor is the face of ‘the other song’ clinic and is the primary means of contact for each patient at ‘the other song’. Every Resident Doctor at the clinic is thoroughly trained and proficient at patient care through various phases of treatment. The Consultant Doctor relies on the Resident Doctor’s interaction, CRA and follow ups with the patient before opining at any stage during the course of treatment.

It is important to bear in mind that Homoeopathy treats the patterns and the underlying cause of disease in an individual. Such treatment requires continual team work over a period. So, one should understand that there will be slow, gradual relief instead of instantaneous effects. When taking the medicine, the patient should regularly follow up the repetition of doses as recommended and should maintain an accurate observation of symptoms as advised by the doctor.

Under any circumstances, if the patient experiences new symptoms, it is important to observe them carefully and if required, note them down for narrating during the next follow up. If there is any undue symptom experienced, it is always advisable to be in touch with the Resident Doctor at the earliest.
